Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026. This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on ProAthleteCompensation.com, what each category does, how long the data is kept and how you can change or withdraw your consent at any time.

Cookie categories we use

Strictly necessary

Basis: Always active — no consent required, the site cannot function without them.

These support core functions: serving pages, load balancing, protecting forms against abuse and remembering the cookie choices you make in our preference center. They do not track you across other websites.

Typical providers: First-party only (our hosting and security layer).

Analytics & performance

Basis: Set only after you opt in. You may withdraw consent at any time.

These help us count visits, see which injury and compensation pages former athletes actually read, measure page speed and find broken or confusing pages. Reports are aggregated; we do not use them to build a profile of you.

Typical providers: Privacy-oriented site analytics (first-party measurement).

Advertising & targeting

Basis: Set only after you opt in. You may withdraw consent at any time.

These measure whether an advertisement led you to this site, avoid repeating the same ad and support showing information about athlete injury compensation resources on other platforms. Where required by state privacy law, opting out here is also treated as a request not to sell or share your personal information through cookies.

Typical providers: Advertising and conversion-measurement partners.

Cookie or technologyPurposeRetention

How to change or withdraw your consent

You can reopen the preference center at any time and turn analytics or advertising cookies off. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately for future cookie writes; cookies already stored can be removed from your browser settings. The Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of every page opens the same panel.

Browser and device controls

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, browse privately and clear stored site data. Look under Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of this site from working.

Many browsers and extensions also send a Global Privacy Control signal. Where state law requires it, we treat that signal as an opt-out of the advertising and targeting category for that browser.

Do we sell or share information collected by cookies?

Advertising and targeting cookies may involve sharing identifiers with advertising partners, which some state privacy laws define as selling or sharing. Leaving that category off, or opting out later, stops that use. This does not affect information you voluntarily submit through a form, which is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by service providers acting on our behalf, such as analytics and advertising measurement vendors. They may process data on their own systems under their own policies. We only enable them after you consent to the relevant category.

Changes to this policy

As we add or remove tools, this page and the retention periods above are updated with a new revision date. Material changes reset the banner so you can review your choices again.

For how we handle the information you submit through forms, see our Privacy Policy.
